History

Fergusonvale Pottery has been owned and operated by Ken and Gwen Loverock since it was established in 1980. Fresh out of Georgian College in Barrie, potter Ken Loverock started producing unique functional stoneware pottery. The original workshop was built in the Fall of 1980 and an additional showroom space was added in 1996. Over the years the pots have evolved and the variety has expanded. Wheel-thrown tableware is still produced, along with a number of unique hand built items including woven clay fruit bowls, bird feeders and one of a kind clay landscapes.

Pottery Classes

We have offered pottery classes for over 25 years and the demand is still strong. Our 6 week classes offer both wheel work and hand building. Class sizes are usually between 6-9 people. They run 1 night (3 hours) a week, for 6 weeks and include 20 pounds of clay for $225.
People interested in taking classes or looking for more information can contact us at loverock@bell.net or call us at 705-322-2573. We organize classes as soon as there is enough interest.
We also offer programs for elementary schools, children's camps and teacher workshops. Special "hands on" tours for groups are also available.
